An interdisciplinary perspective based on governance networks and future climate scenarios.
Many regions in Germany are affected by increasing climate impacts unless immediate and effective mitigation actions occur. Water scarcity and drought endanger the livelihood of hu-mans and nature. We contribute to research on water resource governance with an interdis-ciplinary research project that brings together knowledge from political and environmental sciences. Using cross-impact-balance (CIB) analysis, governance networks and complex policy decision-making processes are analysed combined with storylines for future climate scenarios to find efficient strategies for water resilience, adaptive capacity building and car-bon reduction to support informed decision-making. We aim to further consolidate this re-search through a DFG research group proposal.
